English renderings
To dwell; to inhabit

Meaning

ναίω places gods and other beings in named environments: Delphi, Eleusis, the sea’s foundations, the underworld, or every region of the cosmos. At LVI.10 Adonis dwells below Tartaros only at one time, while the Moirai can dwell in their dark setting and still range abroad at LIX.5. Dwelling therefore need not imply immobility or an exclusive permanent location.
