English renderings
To be a concern; to matter

Meaning

Human purposes are always Nemesis’s concern at LXI.6, and beginning and end are Apollo’s concern at XXXIV.15. The things attended to are grammatically subjects of μέλω, while the divine recipient appears in the dative. At LXI.6 the apparatus reports πέλει against μέλει, a different verb that would change how the relation is expressed.
