English renderings
life; livelihood; course of living

Meaning

βίοτος covers both the means and the course of living. The Kouretes destroy it beside possessions, Eos makes it workable, Fortune varies it, and several prayers seek its good completion. Context decides whether livelihood or lifespan is foremost. The βίοτον reported in the apparatus at LXX.4 is not printed there, where the verse has βίον from βίος.
