English renderings
unbreakable; unruptured

Meaning

Ares, the thunderbolt and Kronos’s bonds are unbreakable. Material resistance and divine power overlap, but the word must be distinguished from ἄρρητος, “unutterable.” At XIII.4 that distinction is textual: the apparatus attributes printed ἀρρήκτους to Lennep against ἀρρήτους, changing the bonds from unspeakable to unbreakable.
