Meaning

Ouranos holds Nature’s vast necessity within his breast at IV.6. The printed ἄπλητος suggests enormous reach, whereas the apparatus reports ἄτλητον, “unendurable,” as the reading replaced by Hermann. The edition’s “unapproachable” is its rendering of the adopted word. Neither form is the separate adjective ἄπληστος, “insatiable.”
