Meaning

The Horai are Persephone’s playmates at XLIII.7, reciprocating the relationship expressed from Persephone’s side in XXIX.9. The printed -κτ- formation remains distinct from the feminine συμπαίκτειρα and from alternative dictionary access spellings. The reciprocal passages are stronger evidence of the local sense than an isolated derivation.
