Cloud

Meaning

The clouds are invoked as airy, fruit-nourishing powers in XXI. Notos brings moist, rain-producing clouds in LXXXII, while dust raised by the Kouretes reaches the clouds at XXXVIII.12. The last gives the word a height-setting function rather than making those clouds themselves an offering or a deity in direct address.
