arrow-shooting

Meaning

Artemis is arrow-shooting in the Prayer, in Leto’s account of her children, and in her own hymn. The epithet identifies her characteristic archery across direct address and narrative reference. Unlike ἰοβόλος in Heracles’ petition, it does not itself supply a poisoned-arrow sense.
