English renderings
giver of all

Meaning

Physis, Earth and Demeter share this feminine giving-title. In Demeter’s hymn it stands beside the nourishment of grain (XL.3); in Earth’s hymn it accompanies both nourishment and destruction (XXVI.2). Universal giving is therefore one aspect of the praised power, not a guarantee that every action is beneficial.
