bronze-clashing

Meaning

Rhea sounds with clashing bronze at XIV.3, and the armed Kouretes do so at XXXVIII.1. The Kouretes' neighbouring equipment makes the martial setting especially explicit. For Rhea the compound names the sound and material, but not the exact bronze instrument making it.
