Meaning
The airy μέρισμα of nourishment is kindling for living things at XI.16, within Pan’s cosmic description. It identifies a share or component, rather than an independent foodstuff. The apparatus at V.2 reports μέρισμα where the adopted verse has ὑπέρεισμα, “support”; that alternative is not another primary occurrence of the noun.
