English renderings
Dark-robed

Meaning

Leto, Tethys, and the sea goddess are described through a dark garment. In the sea address, XXII.2, the robed queen also swells in waves, so personal dress and marine appearance are juxtaposed; Leto’s robe at XXXV.1 is not thereby a statement that she is marine.
