daughter of Coeus

Meaning

Leto is addressed as Κοιαντίς at XXXV.2. The feminine patronymic supplies paternal descent alongside great-hearted and much-besought royal epithets. It is not another independent goddess introduced between Leto’s name and the account of her twins.
