mighty; firmly strong

Meaning

Heracles’ labours are mighty, Hephaestus and Asclepius are directly called mighty, and the earth allotted to Plouton, and Hestia herself, are mighty supports for mortals. The adjective can qualify an activity, an agent, or a sustaining basis. Its strength is not necessarily violent: the healing and supporting contexts are just as important as the heroic one.
