Meaning
Horos can mark a boundary or delimit what something is in a definition. It must be distinguished from oros, mountain, which differs in accent and breathing.
Use in the book
The definition of motion attributed to Pythagoras is called a common horos of every motion. Here delimitation is conceptual: the formula states what counts as motion under the account. In geometrical discussions, related language can instead concern a figure’s boundary or limit.

“Definition” suits an explanatory formula; “boundary” suits spatial delimitation. Do not use one rendering indiscriminately.
