Solomon supplies several kinds of authority in the main treatise. The Song of Songs supports the bride-and-bridegroom comparison of conjunction. His temple appears among great patriarchal works allegedly enabled by the secret's benefits. The Book of Wisdom, attributed to him here, supports preferring wisdom to wealth, while passages assigned to Proverbs commend understanding and a good name above gold. These are distinct uses of a royal and sapiential name. Reporting them does not independently authenticate every quotation, chapter attribution, or claim that Solomon possessed the art.
