English renderings
festivity; flourishing celebration

Meaning

Prothyraia and Aphrodite delight in festivities, Victory’s renown abounds in them, and Wealth is called sweet in celebrations. The plural evokes enjoyment with abundance and successful social life, not merely luxuriant plant growth. Its semantic neighbourhood helps explain the name Thalia, but it should not turn every common-noun occurrence into a reference to that Grace.
