Meaning
Cyprus is one possible location of Mise with Kythereia at XLII.7 and is called Aphrodite’s nurse at LV.24. The second use gives the island a nurturing relationship to the goddess; it is more specific than simply mentioning a place, but does not itself supply a complete birth narrative.
