English renderings
Revel; festive procession

Meaning

Dionysos leads κῶμοι at LII.7 and rouses the recurring trieteric κῶμος at LIII.5. At LXV.7 the revels of Lyaios are an alternative towards which Ares is asked to turn. The word stresses collective festivity or procession; the three-year qualification belongs to the particular passage in LIII, not automatically to every revel.
