English renderings
bring under a yoke

Meaning

Aphrodite has brought the cosmos under her yoke at LV.4, an image of dominion rather than a literal cart. Demeter's uses are concrete: she first yokes ploughing oxen and harnesses the dragon chariot (XL.8,14). The same verb thus connects control with actual agricultural and vehicular work without making the settings identical.
