English renderings
bloody; stain with blood

Meaning

The Korybas is αἱμαχθέντα, bloodied by two brothers, at XXXIX.6. The passive participle makes him the affected person, and ὑπὸ δισσῶν identifies the brothers as agents. Reversing the direction into “he shed his brothers' blood” would change the narrative rather than translate it.
