Erikepaios

Meaning

Erikepaios names Protogonos at VI.4 and addresses Dionysus at LII.6. In VI the accusative belongs to the invoked masculine divine figure, not to the neighbouring neuter σπέρμα merely because both stand nearby. The apparatus reports εὕρηκε παιάν against the adopted name in VI; the difficult divided phrase does not establish an etymology of Erikepaios.
