English renderings
day; allotted day

Meaning

Dawn brings daylight to mortals, while the Prayer invokes light-bearing Day opposite ancient Night. Athena’s hymn uses plural days and nights for recurring time. In LXII.11 the destined day of life is the point toward which a lifespan runs, not merely another sunrise. Context distinguishes ordinary duration, divine invocation, and the appointed limit of life.
