Historical Definition
Neboch is an instrument used in necromancy.
Meaning
The definition gives a purpose without a description of shape or construction. Neboch is not itself defined as a spirit, an apparition or a separate branch of knowledge. Its relation to necromancy is instrumental.
Use in the Book
Necromancy receives a fuller, explicitly condemnatory definition elsewhere. Reading the two entries together supplies the art’s stated aims, while leaving the particular form and operation of the instrument unresolved.
Places to Read
