Historical Definition
Kaprili is sulphur.
Meaning
The equivalence supplies the first meaning to test when the word occurs. It does not specify a preparation or establish whether an author means ordinary sulphur or a sulphurous constituent of a particular body.
Use in the Book
Kibrith has the same short definition. Sulphur rerum and Oleitas rerum show the broader use of sulphur-language in descriptions of things and their powers. Those qualified expressions should be consulted when the surrounding argument concerns a principle rather than a named material.
Places to Read
Kibrith. A second short name for sulphur.
Oleitas rerum. Oiliness of things interpreted through their sulphur.
Sulphur rerum. The sulphur of things used as a name for their quintessence.
