Saulum and Paulum are the inflected names in the warning that an outward reader can see a Saul in place of a Paul. The point is a sharp reversal of recognition: the text before the reader may be well founded while the eye interpreting it is false.
The English preserves both names rather than paraphrasing them as generic error. The unit does not narrate a conversion, explain the two names biographically or assign them to two chemical states. They function as an intelligible example within the main author’s argument for inward discernment of Scripture, not as a new coded ingredient-pair.
