Meaning

Rosy Cross is the editorial association supplied for the initials F. R. C. The responses’ titles and collective language claim fraternity authority, but the claim itself does not establish an organized institution’s historical existence, membership or authorship. The first response addresses two applicants; the second introduces an enigmatic first-person narrative, then credits disclosure to “our brotherhood” in its closing summons, without an explicit new we-speaking turn.

The 1661 edition statement announces two added responses. They are therefore treated here as a separately identified later printing layer, not as evidence that the anonymous 1619 speaker belonged to, or wrote on behalf of, the claimed fraternity. Unidentified recipients, guides, signatures and meeting places remain unidentified.
