The conclusion contrasts pleasure-seekers and worldly people with the simple, truthful, steadfast and godly spirit required for the art. Voluptuarii is the learned label paired with worldly pleasure-seeking. The unusual hellenputzige Geister is rendered “spirits tricked out for hell,” preserving the polemical colouring without inventing a class of named demons. The passage distinguishes a natural or rightly magical art from forbidden necromantic means and denies independent control to the Devil or godless people without divine permission. Its ethical contrast concerns dispositions and the source of authority; it is not evidence that spectacular spirits are necessary collaborators.
