Meaning

“Magical knowledge” is the author’s designation for an important matter briefly touched upon for the children of wisdom to consider further. Its immediate context is the preceding numerical discussion of X, V and XX, including warnings against haste and overprecise reckoning. The edition’s note n65 accordingly describes concealed natural and numerical knowledge, not a newly supplied ritual. The sentence emphasises both significance and limited disclosure: he has indicated something rather than claiming to explain it exhaustively. The historical phrase is therefore evidence for a valued category of knowledge in the treatise, not for a complete magical system recoverable from this remark. The English preserves “magical” rather than silently changing it to “scientific” or “superstitious.” Its local use supplies neither an operational ritual nor grounds for attributing unspecified occult practices to the anonymous author.
