The peacock’s tail is a colour-comparison: the matter becomes green and yellow like that tail. It names neither an animal ingredient nor the final perfected state. The main passage places it among several signs and makes their succession a favourable indication.
The English preserves the specific green-and-yellow comparison. It does not expand the phrase into every colour a modern reader associates with a peacock, or claim that iridescence by itself proves success. The unit proceeds beyond this appearance to other colours and reunion. The companion Via’s objections to literal colour-driven work therefore remain relevant to comparison without erasing the main author’s own stated observations.

- Part II: matter and the work · unit 22Green and yellow are compared to a peacock’s tail within an ordered sequence of observations.
- Way of Truth · unit 31The Via rejects a literal black-white-red colour-making sequence; this is a distinct companion position, not a deletion of the main author’s observations.
