Meaning

Neglect is one possible explanation of the work’s faulty signs, alongside improper beginning and governance. The source does not attribute every failure to an intrinsically wrong material: careless attention can also spoil what has been undertaken. Its examples include premature changes and failure of the desired final condition. The English “carelessly neglected” preserves the moral-practical force of vnfleissig verwahrloset, while “governed” refers to the ordering of the work. These are retrospective diagnostic categories within the treatise, not a guarantee that an inexperienced reader can safely infer and correct an operation from visible signs alone.
