Meaning

The Horai wear robes made from richly grown flowers (XLIII.6). The genitive πολυθρέπτων agrees with ἀνθῶν and describes the flowers’ abundant nurture. It does not call the robes or the goddesses “nourishers of many,” the active relation expressed by πολυθρέμμων.
