English renderings
Dark-haired; dark-maned

Meaning

Poseidon receives κυανοχαῖτα both in Prayer.5 and at the opening of XVII. The hair or mane is part of his addressed appearance alongside earth-holding power. “Maned” preserves a vigorous poetic possibility, but the adjective alone does not turn him into a horse.
