English renderings
mix; blend; temper

Meaning

Hera is mingled with air, Apollo blends the celestial whole and its allotment in harmony, and Aither and Sleep are asked to come tempered or in a well-mixed condition. Mixing is therefore both a cosmic activity and an image for a welcome degree of force. The printed κιρνάς at XXXIV.19 expresses blending; the apparatus reports κρίνας, distinguishing, a consequential alternative rather than a spelling variant.
