English renderings
reverent; pious people

Meaning

The dative plural describes the people who receive divine benefit. Helios guides the reverent toward good things while confronting the irreverent at VIII.8; LXXXVI.12 says their outcome is sweeter. The adjective identifies a relational and ethical contrast, not a separately defined institutional grade of initiation.
