Meaning
Doxaston names what belongs to opinion as its object. It need not mean a false statement or an illusion.
Use in the book
The fourfold classification assigns participating instances and images to opinion, as a particular human participates in human being and a particular triangle in triangle. Necessary properties and forms themselves occupy other levels of cognition. The term differentiates the kind of object, rather than announcing that every opinion about it must be wrong.
