Meaning

This is a projected title distinct from the analogical method already used in the treatise. The proposed book concerns the harmony of catholic Magnesia with Christ and, expressly, the converse comparison.

Use in the book

The title begins on page 57 and continues on page 58 with contra. The body and the divided marginal title both keep that reciprocal direction visible. Khunrath pairs it with the Apocalypsis and says he has both in hand. Their bases are Nature's world-book and biblical Scripture.

The surrounding discussion on pages 56–572 indicates the intended breadth: the matter and Stone are compared with Christ, and their relation extends to doctrine, life, and miracles. The proposed book would therefore enlarge a complex argument, not simply add a devotional motto to a recipe. Its actual plan, chapters, and final contents remain unspecified.

Places to read

  1. 1599 p. 56The substantive comparison extends to Christ’s doctrine, life, and miracles.
  2. 1599 p. 57The projected book is named beside the Apocalypsis.
  3. 1599 p. 58The title’s reciprocal conclusion and the statement that both books are in hand appear here.
  4. 1599 p. 58 · marginThe continuation of the marginal title likewise retains and conversely.

Translation in this edition

The complete title crosses a page-turn. Omitting the continuation would lose the deliberate reciprocity. The primary announcement does not establish later completion or noncompletion.

Source note
