fumigation from aromatics
wild maidens, of the well-heads and haunters of the woods,
fragrant virgins, white-robed, sweet-breathing in the breezes,
of the goatherds, of the pastures, dear to wild beasts, of splendid fruit,
glad in the thickets, tender, nourishers of many and increasers of growth,
hamadryad maidens, lovers of play, watery-pathed,
of Nysa, frenzied, healing, delighting in the spring,
bringing grace to mortals with Bakchos and with Deo;
come to the offerings of good omen with a rejoicing heart,
pouring a healthful stream in the seasons that increase growth.
