fumigation from aromatics
Pallas sole-born, august offspring of great Zeus,
divine, blessed goddess, rouser of war, of mighty spirit,
unspeakable, spoken, of great renown, cave-dwelling,
you who hold the high-sounding summits of the ridges
and the shadowy mountains, and delight your heart in the glens,
rejoicing in arms, goading the souls of mortals with frenzies,
maiden who trains, holding a spirit that makes men shudder,
slayer of the Gorgon, shunning the marriage-bed, mother of the arts, rich in blessing,
impeller, lover of the goad against the wicked, but prudence to the good;
