Sal Lumen and Spiritus Mundi Philosophici: Book Two · Chapter 1

p. 77

1 That the Spirit of the World Takes Body, and How It Is Embodied

Que l'Esprit du monde prend corps, & comment il se corporifie.

Chapter Outline

The spirit that embodies other things must itself be capable of embodiment.

Central fire and coessential moisture are the first parents of embodiment.

Generation, maturation and dissolution are successive operations of fire.

Ash and salt reveal the hidden fire that survives burning.

Vapour condenses into mercurial water and mucilage, then solidifies; the acorn supplies a concluding example.
