English
The augmentation and multiplication is done with the butter or spirit of antimony (which are one and the same), after it has been made red with the sulphur of Mars and of Venus. The butter of antimony draws the sulphur and the colour out of the sublimed sulphur of Venus and Mars by way of digestion, and colours itself red with it. The butter of antimony also takes colour from its own cinnabar, which settles in the neck of the retort while the butter of antimony is being distilled.
Throughout the work the glass must always be well closed with the Seal of Hermes, that is, melted shut at the top. The fire must not rest or go out for a single minute, but must be governed and kept up with the utmost diligence until the end of the Work.
