LXIV–LXXIX: Principles and the Herculean Works · Grand Elixir · Aphorism LXXII

Original English

LXXII. Althô all those above-mention'd Operations are, according to the common Opinion of the Philosophers, esteem'd difficult, and dangerous; yet we can upon our Conscience assure you, that we have our self alone without the help of any Creature living prepar'd them all on a common Kitchin Fire, as is very well known to several Coadepts, our Friends, who could not but admire and approve of our Industry.

Modern English

LXXII. Although all the operations mentioned above are, in the common opinion of the philosophers, considered difficult and dangerous, we can assure you on our conscience that we ourselves, alone and without the help of any living creature, have prepared them all on a common kitchen fire. Several coadepts, our friends, know this very well, and could not but admire and approve our industry.
