Original English

CI. Whoever shall presume to prepare the Great Elixir according to our most Secret Ways without following and observing all these our infallible Rules, will certainly find himself mightily mistaken at last, having after a great deal of Trouble, Charges, and Pains, reap'd nothing but Discontent; and on the contrary they, that shall walk in our true and infallible Paths, shall with very little Trouble and Expences attain to their desired End, which we cordially wish to all those, who are sincere wellwishers to the Hermetic Philosophy.

Modern English

CI. Whoever presumes to prepare the great elixir according to our most secret ways without following and observing all these infallible rules of ours will certainly find himself greatly mistaken in the end. After much trouble, expense and pain, he will have reaped nothing but discontent. On the contrary, those who walk in our true and infallible paths will attain their desired end with very little trouble or expense. We heartily wish this to all sincere well-wishers to Hermetic philosophy.
