At a Glance

The word. A term describing longevity.

In the book. Annus Aniadin is also directly glossed as a long life, while Senio maximus is called the author of long life.

A place to read. The historical definition below, 1650 dictionary, unnumbered definition page 21; facsimile PDF page 349.

Historical Definition

Enochdianum is something that has long life.

Meaning

The entry gives duration as its distinguishing feature. It does not restrict the subject to a human being, identify a medicine, or explain how long life is obtained. Its general wording should remain open to the context in which the headword appears.

Use in the Book

Annus Aniadin is also directly glossed as a long life, while Senio maximus is called the author of long life. These related terms have different grammatical and explanatory roles: a duration, something possessing it, and an attributed source of it. The brief definition does not make them identical.

Places to Read

Annus Aniadin. A lifespan expression rather than a fixed calendrical year.

Senio maximus. A name associated with the source or producer of long life.
