In the book. Duelech, despite its similar spelling, concerns a kind of tartar or a dangerous spongy stone-like formation in the body.
A place to read. The historical definition below, 1650 dictionary, unnumbered definition page 20; facsimile PDF page 348.
Historical Definition
Dubelech is the cavity of an abscess.
Meaning
The word names a cavity, rather than the entire swelling or the material it contains. “Abscess” makes the older imposteme more legible here while preserving the locational character of the definition. The entry assigns no cause or treatment.
Use in the Book
Duelech, despite its similar spelling, concerns a kind of tartar or a dangerous spongy stone-like formation in the body. The juxtaposition makes exact spelling especially important. Dubelech’s cavity should not inherit the material identification supplied under Duelech.
Places to Read
Duelech. Bodily tartar associated with a dangerous stone-like formation.
