Historical Definition
Impressiones are the fruits, as it were, of stars in lower things.
Meaning
The image of fruits presents what proceeds or results from stars in lower things. The qualifying “as” keeps the explanatory comparison visible. The entry does not name a particular star, subject or physical sign.
Use in the Book
Constellatio concerns the impression of higher stars or their virtues upon lower bodies. Formæ rerum gives influences received from celestial bodies or the virtues of things. These entries connect the relation of influence with its supposed products. Impressiones is particularly useful for recognising that a passage may be discussing results rather than the celestial agent itself.
Places to Read
Constellatio. The influence of higher stars understood as an impression in lower things.
Formæ rerum. Forms explained through received celestial influences or active virtues.
