The word. Two expressions identifying bone marrow.

Historical Definition
Axungia de Mumia, or Mumia de Medullis, is the marrow of bones.
Meaning
The alternative names belong together in a finding index. Their definition is anatomical: the substance is the marrow within bones. The Mumia vocabulary can look more mysterious than this particular identification warrants, so the plain material gloss is especially helpful.
Elsewhere the dictionary uses Mumia in several qualified expressions. The existence of that wider family does not make all of them bone marrow. Here the complete terms supply the specific sense. Preserve the qualification when following a preparation or comparing passages.
Places to Read
Mumia. Balmed flesh, expressly extending beyond human flesh.
Liquor Mumiæ. A Mumia compound explicitly identified as human fat.
