At a Glance

The word. Another name for ferment.

In the book. Iumnizum also leads to leaven or ferment.

A place to read. The historical definition below, 1650 dictionary, unnumbered definition page 28; facsimile PDF page 356.

Historical Definition

Kamir is ferment.

Meaning

Kamir is a lexical cross-reference, not a new explanation of an operation. Fermentum gives the fuller account: a fixed matter brings another matter into conformity with its own nature and fixity. That account supplies the relevant function when Kamir appears in a technical passage.

Use in the Book

Iumnizum also leads to leaven or ferment. The dictionary’s several names make recognition important; their number does not prove that several different ingredients are required.

Places to Read

Fermentum. A fixed agent credited with communicating its nature and fixedness.

Iumnizum. An alternative name for leaven or ferment.
