Meaning
The threshold marks the boundary between ordinary access and prepared entry into sacred instruction.
Use in the book
Before crossing it, the candidate receives warnings about caution, secrecy, and fortitude. Trials and the guidance of an initiator make entry a change of standing. Later access to the inner sanctuary develops the same spatial idea: the center cannot be approached as though it were simply another public room.

In this edition
Threshold is an ordinary word with a particular symbolic role. Broader entrance and enter matches include other settings.
Reading the argument
The boundary is both a teaching image and a form of exclusion. Ask what preparation it signifies, who judges readiness, and what knowledge is promised beyond it. These questions join the architectural symbolism to the governing rules.
