Temperance, quiet reserve, exemplary life and inward uprightness qualify the First Response’s promised possession. The recipients must not flaunt the gift or use it contrary to God; they are to remain content with what the guide gives. The warning is conditional: misconduct can lead the conductor to withdraw and the gift to be lost.
Seyd nicht sicher means not becoming complacent in this context, not a command to be physically unsafe. The English makes that force explicit. Vnsträfflich concerns blameless conduct towards the guide, while rein vnd aufrichtig describes conduct before God. The phrases reinforce accountability after receipt rather than claiming that possession removes every need for care.
